The working characteristic of the steam preshrinking machine is to preshrink without pressurizing and stretching the fabric.

The steam pre-shrinking machine is also called the pre-shrinking setting machine. It is divided into two types: continuous steam shrinking machine suitable for wool fabrics; heat setting shrinking machine suitable for synthetic fiber fabrics. Other fabrics can also obtain a certain pre-shrinking effect on the steam shrinking machine. The basic process is moistening—steaming—insulation and thermal shrinkage—cooling and stabilization—cloth output. It should be noted that the wetting operation of the fabric before entering the steaming device must be uniform, otherwise the surface of the pre-shrunk fabric will be uneven. In order to obtain cloth feeding under "no tension state", the cloth feeding device should be controlled by frequency converter stepless speed regulation. The pre-shrinking treatment of fabrics emphasized by garment factories and the "pre-shrinking finishing" of fabrics by fabric finishing factories are different in terms of process concept. The main idea of garment factories to pre-shrink fabrics is to manually eliminate the shrinkage deformation effect that fabrics tend to produce under the "natural aging" condition before garment processing.
